Road safety awareness

The Trust along with the Police department, RTO office Arani and Fire and Rescue services conducted several safety awareness programmes. In this, students participated in a rally and headlight stickers were pasted on all the vehicles passed by in which the headlight stickers were not there.

The Trust donated 5 numbers of Road safety barricades to the Kannamangalam police station worth about Rs. 35,000.

This has been used during the Deepam festival at Tiruvannamalai, giving a boost to the image of the Trust and the School.

Fire safety awareness

The fire and rescue services of Arani conducted fire safety awareness for the students at Vels Vidhyashram School premises in which demonstrations were given on how to quench fire in emergency situation and how to use fire extinguishers in case of an emergency. Drivers were also trained on how to evacuate children in case of any fire emergencies in the bus.

Helmet awareness

Helmet awareness program was coducted at Kannamangalam where the Arani DSP along with the sub inspectors took part in a rally which enlightened the public about the use of helmet. Around 300 students of the Interact club of Vels Vidhyashram took a rally along with the police officials and distributed around 2000 phamplets to the public about the safety of wearing helmets.
